Women tell me all the time that they think you can’t have a boudoir session unless you’re wearing the typical lingerie. But that’s one thing I love about boudoir the most! You can absolutely wear whatever you want and this client decided on leaning into a casual boudoir session.
Of course you can see that she did have one set of lingerie that leans into what you typically think of for a session! A very cute cropped top and a classic pair of white undies. It photographed so well, especially the black in the contrast of my studio!
The other outfits she brought really brought out the casual boudoir vibe. She brought some beautiful boxers from Skims and even some beautiful sets from Lululemon! (Turns out it’s not just for exercising).
Obviously, there’s something so classic and beautiful about a traditional boudoir session, but there’s so many good reasons to do something a little more casual. Casual outfits like boxers and cut t-shirts and sweaters can make photos seem a little more intimate and they feel very homey. You can look comfortable and cosy while also leaving a bit to the imagination (which can be sexy in its own way!)
If you’re loving this look and vibe, check out another cozy boudoir session I photographed for even more inspo on cozying up your session.
