Well I am SO EXCITED to share my first Sunset quickie session with you!! They’re finally here! (Yes, I wait for these all year!) There’s something magic about that golden hour glow. And inside the studio, it hits just right. I’m telling you… it’s YUMMY.
Like I mentioned, this session kicked off the very first evening of the season, and wow, what a way to begin. These are a limited summer-only offering, and I swear, the way the evening light pours into the studio makes it impossible not to shoot.
I think they’re perfect for if you’ve been wanting to try boudoir but aren’t ready to dive into the full experience yet. These short and sweet sessions are a great way to understand what all the hype is about, and walk away with some sexy photos!
They’re also perfect if you’re a seasoned client who wants to get back in front of the camera (because boudoir is low-key addicting, let’s be real)! These are such a fun way to revisit the empowerment and artistry all over again.
She’s done multiple shoots with me in the past, which means we already had that beautiful rhythm of trust and creative freedom. Each time she comes in, we get to experiment a little more, explore new ideas, and push the boundaries of what we’ve done before. As an artist – I love this.
For this shoot, I leaned into playing with shadows and evening light. That dreamy dusk glow gave us the perfect opportunity to layer in depth and dimension using light alone. We also incorporated a ton of texture—think sheer curtains, soft shadows, architectural elements, and of course, that lingerie.
She wore the matching Thistle and Spire set—yes, that one. The one with the iconic appliqué and dramatic details. I never get tired of photographing their pieces. It was the perfect piece to pair with both traditional and nontraditional poses. One thing I love about working with repeat clients is that we already have a foundation, so we can get even more playful with posing. We did some new angles, played with shadows, and perspective photos that really show off the contrast of her lingerie against the soft studio light. The Minneapolis boudoir photographer in me was so happy we got to create so much!
These short sessions may be quick, but they don’t skimp on the magic. You still get the quiet space, the creativity, the confidence boost—but in a condensed version that feels fun, fresh, and completely doable for your summer calendar.
