If you’re thinking about booking a boudoir experience, but you’re wondering: do you need hair and makeup for your boudoir session? This is for you!
In a nutshell: you don’t need anything to show up and feel incredible here in my Minneapolis studio. But I do offer hair and makeup as an add-on for anyone who wants a little something extra.

I work with local artists here in Minneapolis who I’ve trusted for years. They specialize in hair and makeup artistry designed specifically for photography. This is made to be captured on camera. Which is very different from everyday looks, or live event makeup. Their work photographs beautifully while still looking like you. Natural, glowy, and confident.

For some women, getting their look professionally done is the perfect way to settle into the day. It gives you space to slow down. You get to sit back and let someone else take over, which can feel like a treat, especially if you are a mom who rarely gets a true moment of quiet. (Hi! It’s me!) It can turn your session into a “me day” from the moment you walk in the door.
Others choose the add-on because they want a little guidance. Maybe you aren’t totally sure how to style your hair. Maybe makeup feels overwhelming. Working with a professional can boost your confidence and help you walk into your session already feeling amazing.

And then there are many who skip it too! They prefer to come as they are, do their own glam, or keep things simple. That is just as welcome here.
And you’re allowed to change your mind too! You will have the option when booking your session to add-on this feature. But you can really just let me know anytime during the prep process if you’d like to upgrade.
Because curating an experience that is just for you – that’s the heart of it. This experience is about honoring what feels comfortable and authentic to you. Whether that includes professional styling or not, you will be supported and celebrated. Because we are creating art together, for you & by you.
