Can I tell you again how much of an honor it is working with other artists? This is something I have had the privilege to do multiple times, and I have to pinch myself every time! I have had photographers fly or drive into Minneapolis to work in my studio from all over the country, and I’m so. damn. honored every time.
There’s something incredibly special about photographing another boudoir photographer. It’s the ultimate compliment – to have someone who knows this world, who understands lighting, posing, and storytelling, trust you to document their body and essence. There’s a vulnerability in being on the other side of the lens, and it’s such a gift to create a space where they can soften into that.
She started off in a black sheer wrap top with a matching thong. It was simple, classy, and striking. The look paired so, so well with her chic chin-length haircut. Something about the structure of her outfit and the angles of her hair felt bold in the best way. We made sure to play around with poses that matched the vibe.
From there, we moved into one of our studio favorites: her classic tan set from Lounge. We love Lounge around here because their pieces are understated and give that cozy, lived-in vibe we love so much. Plus, they were made to be photographed.
Next up was a two-piece black set that had this gorgeous brass detail on the bra. Those little textures—hardware, fabric shifts, layers… they add so much visual interest to photos. Don’t underestimate a good texture! And, to lean into that, we threw on a crinkled white button-down shirt for some extra movement and contrast. I’m obsessed.
And, of course, we wrapped with a studio staple: the “just the sheets” set. No props, no distractions—just her, soft and powerful and completely at ease.
Sessions like this are a reminder that boudoir isn’t just for first-timers or folks stepping outside their comfort zone (though I love that too). It’s also for the women who live in this world. Who know what it means to create beauty and empowerment for others, and are ready to claim a little of that for themselves. I think ALL boudoir photographers should step in front of the camera from time to time.
To the photographers who choose me—thank you. Working with other artists is an honor every time.
