If you’ve ever worried about how you’ll pose during your boudoir session, I totally get it. It’s one of the most common questions I get from clients! But creative poses are my love language so you’re in good hands!
Here’s the thing to know: posing isn’t about looking like anyone else. It’s about moving in a way that feels authentic, confident, and expressive to you.
This session in particular was with one of my longtime clients (we’re coming up on ten sessions together!! Can you believe that?). Every time she walks into the studio, she brings so much trust and openness to the experience, which gives us space to experiment, play, and create something totally new each time.
We started in a soft white two-piece lingerie, the golden light streaming through the windows wrapping her in warmth. The simplicity of that outfit let her natural confidence shine.
The kind that celebrate form, texture, and movement. Think relaxed moments by the window, soft reflections in the mirror, and that quiet confidence that comes from fully owning your space.
She switched it up into a bold black set paired with patent platform heel boots. Talk about a badass moment. I’ll always get excited to capture you in that mode!
The mood shifted instantly as she owned that energy. The light hit the walls just right, casting dramatic shadows that emphasized every curve and line. We explored poses that were strong, unapologetic, and sensual. It’s more evidence that posing isn’t about perfection, it’s about energy and intention.
That’s what I love most about working with returning clients like her: there’s this rhythm that develops over time. Each session becomes an evolution. A chance to push boundaries, try something new, and keep discovering what confidence looks like right now. Whether it’s arching toward the light, lying softly in the shadows, or taking a breath by the window, every frame tells a piece of your story.
Her last look was a graphic tank with a black thong, which has become a staple in the studio. I love the casual, lived-in look so much. It inspires so many looks and images for me.
So if you’re wondering how to prepare or what to do during your shoot, know this: you don’t have to come in knowing a single movement. I’ll guide you through everything, show you how to move, and we’ll find what feels good together.
